Wolverine Nordic Ski Club |
Ironwood Michigan |
We are a non profit group that promotes nordic skiing in and around Gogebic County,
which is located in Michigan's upper peninsula near the town of Ironwood.
Our location, in the middle of the Lake Superior snow belt called Big Snow
Country, provides us with snow that tends to arrive earlier, pile deeper, and last
longer than anywhere else in the Midwest! Abundant snow, coupled with
the natural rolling terrain in our northern hardwood forest, makes for a wonderful
winter experience. So bring your skis or snowshoes and give us a try. Our trail system consists of five different loops that provide 24 kilometers of skiing for both striders and skaters. We operate on a donation basis and since all of our funding comes from memberships and donations, we ask that you please remember us when you pass by the donation boxes located at all major trailheads and our chalet. All of our grooming is performed by volunteers but the machines and the fuel they use cost quite a bit. Should you ever wish to get in touch with us, simply our chalet at 906-932-0347 and leave a message, or email at uptrek@gmail.com. |
